The Ghost of Windy Hill

This book was signed by the author to a specific person. It seems that if someone took the time to get a book signed by the author, they must have loved the book. Perhaps someone went and took the book to the author at a book signing on behalf of "Sierra". Either way, this book was found discarded at a thrift store.

The copyright of this book is 1969.

Inscriptions reads, "To Sierra, Be Ghostly. Clyde Robert Bulla."

Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother Too?

It seems like there are two kinds of people in the world. Those that respect and love books and those that have never given a thought about what a book represents to the reader. When a book is given as a gift, hopefully it was chosen to express a certain feeling about the recipient.

This inscription seems to say it all.

Inscriptions reads, "Mother's Day 2006. Stella and Walter, Have lots of fun reading this book with your wonderful mother today. Love, Grandma Christine."

Best Word Book Ever

After spending time buying used books at thrift stores for my children, I discovered dozens of books that have been discarded by their owners with heartfelt inscriptions inside the covers.

It seemed almost shameful to not honor these books, especially after reading some of the things that people write to loved ones.

Inscription reads, "Best wishes to Rachel Jane Coady from the 1980-81 4th grade class at Lynch Meadows. Feb. 13, 1981."

Signed by Rachel Churchill, Justin Shuman, Shelby Huffman, Jean Hankins, TJ Dyar, Julie Olsen, James Barry, Monty, Kevin B., Chris Jones, Delia Jimmy, Taylor Bedlion, Trisha Bryan, Raina P., Cindy Bellah, Norman Abel, Kevin McCoy, Jeffery Jublonski, Cynthia Homan, Stephanie Beiglund, Jennifer Lloyd and Michelle Curtis.
